West Shore Bank Spotlight: Janet Duchon

West Shore Bank Spotlight: Janet Duchon

Janet Duchon has worn many hats in her career. From flight attendant to licensed real estate agent to banking, Duchon serves as West Shore Bank’s Vice President, Manistee Market Branch Manager.

Duchon’s 25 years in management and 14 years as a banking manager lead her to West Shore Bank in 2019. She supervises personal banking teams in the Bank’s Manistee South and Parkdale offices. She attended Ferris State University.

Duchon's experience as a manager has taught her that leading a team is as much learning as it is leading.

“’We are not all cut from the same cloth,’ and that’s what makes us special and unique. Together we weave a beautiful, colorful patchwork quilt,” Duchon says.

A Manistee area native, Duchon gives back to her community through involvement in various organizations

“I am involved with the Manistee Downtown Development Design Committee, Victorian Sleighbell Parade and Old Christmas Weekend Committee, Manistee National Forest Festival Committee, The Manistee Elks and the Catholic War Veteran Stephen T Duchon Post,” Duchon shares.

Duchon finds inspiration from positive people who demonstrate a passion for life. Her inspiration comes from time spent with her husband, 4 children and 6 grandchildren at their cottage on Big Bass Lake.

Traveling, cooking, gardening, crafting, kayaking and hiking are some hobbies Duchon pursues when she isn’t volunteering for her community.
